Søgne Dykkerklubb deltar i HAVMONSTERUKA Farsund, 2024.

This is a voluntary effort by many different groups under the umbrella of the "Havmonsteret" (Sea-Monster) project [https://havmonsteret.com/ ] initiated by a local school. Based in the beautiful coastal town of Farsund on Norway's southern coast, the project focusses on marine cleanup with a strong focus on plastic polution in the ocean. Kids learn about this topic and then create presentations, run projects, develop sea-food recipes, create new methods, reports, songs, videos, clean coastal areas, and do a myriad of other activities to increase awareness, clean up the marine envoronment, learn more about ocean pollution and make the world a better place!

Søgne Dykkerklubb (Dive-Club) is based in Søgne, another small south-coastal community further east. We have become well-known for our intense, year-round clean-up efforts, especially in ridding the local waters of ghost-traps and other fishing gear which continue to tangle and trap fish, crabs, lobster etc long after they have become lost. We have been proud partners in Farsund's Havmonster project for a few years now.

We all need the oceans whether we realize it or not. Some of us are in love with the seas! What can YOU do to make the world around you a little better?
