Loshavn is an outport outside Farsund, located southeast of Lista at the entrance to Lyngdalsfjorden. Here is perhaps the best-preserved wooden house environment along the southern coast. The place has a distinctive history, especially in the war years 1807–1814, in the so-called caper era. During these years, the place had a pilot business and carried out authorized hijacking of English ships along the coast. The hijacking letters were issued by the King's representatives in Kristiansand.
Loshavn is a typical example of the outport communities along the southern coast which experienced great prosperity in the 18th and 19th centuries, and which today appear as a holiday paradise with almost no permanent residents. (Wiki)
